This work was husbanded along last week by one of our more traditional painting professors at UMass. If I had a quarter for every time he shook his head and said "I don't know what it is you're trying to do here, but"...(good advice to follow). It is however, one of my recent successes in the studio. The forms in this piece are not necessarily clouds rather they are a type of ambiguous mass placed in a rather ambiguous space; but it holds together spatially. And that's what excited me. The stitching, color, and composition are all working together to create an abstract space which is delightful and exciting to look at. If anyone has a suggestion for a title, I would be happy to hear it.

Don't laugh too hard, but this painting brings back memories of going around Kyoto's geisha district. I guess it is the green and the form resembles a Japanese woman in a kimono.
I would suggest two titles:
"Maiko" which is an apprentice geisha.
or "Gion" which is the upscale geisha neighborhood in Kyoto.
Cookie Monster
It has a plant feel to it...maybe I am being literal about the green. I see some plant type forms as well..organic at least. I like this direction!
I see a plant or at least organic form here. I like this direction in your work.
We were laughing at the studio that they resemble some sort of exploding potatoes, so plant forms align with this I suppose; but geishas... hmmm.
